Before and After

Rhinoplasty Method

1. Before surgery

The nose bridge is flat and the nasal tip is low.

2. Collect autologous cartilage

Collect autologous cartilage from either the ear or nasal septum.

3. Incise the nose skin

Open incision of the nose skin to proceed with the surgery.

4. Raise the nose bridge with dual silicone

Dual silicone helps raise the height of the nose.

5. Lift the nasal tip

Lift the nasal tip with the collected autologous cartilage.

6. Post-OP checkup

Check to see if the surgery went well according to the surgical plan.

Types of cartilage used in Shinsang’s nose surgery

Which cartilage will be suitable for you ?

Ear Cartilage

Preferred for a natural nose line as the cartilage has soft and flexible tissues, making it easy to insert in the nasal tip.

Nasal Septal Cartilage

Suitable for a sharp nose tip, it can be obtained during nose surgery and reduces the need of extra incisions and harvesting from other areas.

IHCC

*Irradiated Homologous Costal Cartilage

Suitable for those who need revision due to severe short/upturned nose, septum and ear cartilage deficiency, or for those who would like to improve the nose line completely.

FAQ

Q. How long will the swelling last?

A. The amount of swelling and time of healing can differ for each patient, but it usually takes about 1 to 2 weeks. Residual swelling can last up to a month. Nasal splints and stitches are usually removed 1 week after surgery.

Q. Are crooked nose or a deviated septum related to rhinoplasty?

A. It is necessary to have sufficient consultation with a professional plastic surgeon before the surgery.
If you have both a crooked nose and a deviated nasal septum, surgery for both can be performed at the same time. However, depending on the amount of correction needed, it may be difficult to put in implants at the same time so an additional procedure may be needed.

Q. When can I get revision rhinoplasty?

A. It is possible to get revision surgery at least 6 months after, when the tissues are stabilized.

Q. When can I proceed with daily activities?

A. Daily activities are possible after 3 to 5 days, however, it may vary for each individual.

Q. What kind of implants do you use?

A. We usually use silicone implant for better shaping, we also use the patient’s nasal septal cartilage or ear cartilage, and IHCC may be used if needed.
